In 1982, John Kenneth Karber, Sr. founded Karber Insurance in Lufkin, Texas as a personal lines agency selling auto, home, and life insurance products. In 1984, Karber Insurance moved to its present location and began to grow rapidly, serving the needs of its customers personally and professionally. Karber Insurance expanded its services to include preparing personal tax returns in 1994. Ken Karber Sr. and his wife, Betty, both passed away in 2006. They are both missed by those who knew them personally and professionally.
Karber Insurance was purchased by the Boyds in 2007 and incorporated in April 2008 to form what is now KarberBoyd Company dba KarberBoyd Insurance and KarberBoyd Tax Service. With over 25 years of insurance experience, Jay leads the insurance department of KarberBoyd. Tammy, who oversees the income tax department, has over 15 years experience in various accounting departments. They share the goal of giving every client the convenience, competitive rates, and caring customer service they deserve.
